Submission to the Nuffield Council on Bioethics consultation on Emerging Biotechnologies: ethical issues

Published: 23rd June 2011

On April 4 2011 the Nuffield Council issued a consultation calling for views and evidence on the ethical issues raised by emerging biotechnologies. (www.nuffieldbioethics.org/emerging-biotechnologies)

The Nuffield Council is interested in the way society and policy makers respond to new biotechnologies and how benefits from these technologies can be secured in an ethically appropriate manner. Following the questions set out by the Council in their consultation paper, the CMF submission details some of the common ethical issues raised by emerging biotechnologies and the implications for policy, governance and public engagement.

The CMF submission, sent on June 23 2011 can be found here.
