This CMF response comments on the draft regulations to permit the use of new techniques that aim to avoid serious mitochondrial diseases through creating three parent children. The submission reflects concerns with the safety of these new techniques for clinical use. If introduced, regulations must ensure that children are fully informed if they were born using these techniques, and donors should be identifiable.
