This CMF response comments on an amendment to the NI Justice (Clause 11a (Ending the Life of an Unborn Child)) that would prevent private companies or charities from offering abortion services in NI. There is no evidence that the NHS in NI lacks capacity to deal with the limited demand for abortion services and Marie Stopes International would not be a suitable choice of 'partner' because of their promotion of a more liberal policy on abortion that is at odds with the law, culture, values of the people in NI.
