Regulations to permit mitochondrial donation to prevent the transmission of serious mitochondrial disease from mother to child have been published by the Public Health Secretary. The regulations raise a number of safety, efficacy and ethical issues. We set out some of the more recent safety concerns in this written submission from CMF to the committee.
