NICE is consulting over proposals to provide a range of condom distribution schemes in an attempt to reduce the spread of STIs. Schemes under consideration include multicomponent schemes for young people up to the age of 25 years (where condom distribution is combined with education, information and demonstrations), single component schemes (free condoms) and cost-price sales schemes.
CMF has contributed a response emphasising the importance of behavioural change, rather than simply improved or novel means of condom distribution, as key to reducing the incidence of STIs.
CMF's reponse to this consultation can be found in full here.
