A Salvation Army 25-bed hospital, focussing on maternal child health and paediatrics. It serves a widespread catchment area in which a mobile unit operates and a community health programme has developed. HIV/AIDS is becoming a significant issue.

Hospitals of Hope is a 30 bed Level II trauma hospital with inpatient and outpatient services, two OR’s and EMS. It is located right outside of Cochabamba serving both rural and urban patients.
Students have the opportunity to shadow doctors and gain hands on experience as well as participate in community health outreach.
Diospi Suyana is a mission hospital reaching out to the highland Indians of Peru. It offers comprehensive care to the descendants of the ancient Incas. The facility will be equipped with 55 beds, 4 operating rooms, intensive care, laboratory and x-ray unit. Some 80 Peruvian employees find jobs at the hospital. Another 30 volunteers from abroad are financed through support groups in their countries of origin.
Students will have the opportunity to do ward rounds, assist in theatre and do community outreach. Spanish is required.
