Located in rural Papua New Guinea at the New Tribes Mission headquarters, there is a supportive community and on site international christian school from aged 5-18.
The doctor plays a vital role of the team by coordinating, supervising, and administering the medical care for missionaries locally and in remote locations. The doctor also impacts the local community by caring for the medical needs of many local citizen workers. NTM PNG exists to assist the local church in planting mature churches among least reached people groups.
Responsibilities: Be on call for medical emergencies. Be responsible for all medical decisions regarding routine and emergency care. In emergencies decide where to obtain the appropriate level of care. Prepare the patient for transfer when required. This includes writing reports and notifying all appropriate individuals. Maintain regular clinic hours, as possible, with flexibility to allow for on call hours, medical evacuations, etc. Supervise all medical care provided by the medical clinic, including all nursing functions, lab and pharmacy functions. Meet with NTM-PNG leadership periodically.
Skills: Ideally suited to a GP or Emergency Medicine doctor as this clinic combines both elements.
Period of service - short term from 1 month to 2 years, 2 long term doctors also needed
