<< 7.1 Passports and visas

7.2 Travel and insurance

British Airways may allow extra weight to charity workers. Contact their Customer Relations Department. www.britishairways.com/travel/bagunacc/public/en_gb#excessbags. Other airlines may have comparable arrangements so it is well worth enquiring.

Most airlines place restrictions on the weight of any one item. Many airlines weigh hand luggage these days. Check the allowances before you get to the airport

As a general rule, don't take more on the plane than you can manage to carry yourself. When you have to depend on someone else to help, bags can disappear. NEVER leave your bags unattended or out of sight, even in a locked vehicle.
