Recognising the impossible situation that the Director of Public Prosecutions was placed in by the Law Lords' requirement that he publish interim guidelines on criteria for prosecuting those who assist suicide, Care Not Killing, an alliance of which CMF is a founder member, has nevertheless claimed that the proposals pose a danger to public safety.
A press release was reflected in newspaper coverage on 14 November and there was a powerful letter from senior legal and medical figures in The Times on 16 November.
