Faith in the consulting room

The GMC and MDU have this week endorsed 'tactful' offers of prayer by GPs and RCGP Chair Clare Gerada has said 'it is good that sense is prevailing at last'. Graham McAll's new book At A Given Moment, explains how understanding a patient's worldview can throw light on their condition and is full of spiritual wisdom, practical advice and inspiring case histories (order online now).

Recruit a Friend

Invite Christians in your church to become 'Friends of CMF' and register your church as a CMF link church by signing up online. CMF friends and link churches will receive regular CMF email updates on Christian medical issues and have access to other resources.

CMF development plan 2011-2013

You will have received information by post about CMF's exciting three year development plan. Please pray for this venture, consider how you can support the development fund and follow progress on line.

Developing Health Course

This was a great success with 61 participants and 30 speakers providing excellent teaching and training. Read Vicky Lavy's blog post and listen to her podcast.

Supporting junior doctors

Look out for new doctors arriving in your hospital in the next few weeks. As you welcome them, invite them to join CMF and encourage your church to be hospitable.

Nurses' Retreat

Please tell any nursing, midwifery or health visitor contacts about the retreat in Bristol on 21-23 September. Book online – but hurry, there is a £15 discount for all booking received before 1 August.
