Disappointment over HFE Bill
You'll know by now that we lost in the House of Commons on all four controversial aspects of the HFE Bill – there will now be animal-human hybrids, more use of 'saviour siblings', no requirement to consider the need for a father, and no reduction in the upper limit for abortion. See some of CMF's media involvement. Thank you for all your prayer and action. We still need to be vigilant that no liberalising amendments will succeed at Report stage on 17 June.

The proposal of Scott Murray and colleagues to implement the principles of palliative care beyond cancer patients topped a BMJ poll and will be the main subject of their campaigns in the next year.
Motions around whole person/spiritual care at LMC conference
Kent LMC have two sets of motions supporting these important principles coming up at the English LMC conference. Any members attending who would like to support these should contact me in the Office.
PRIME Tutor conference 25-27 June
Members increasingly have opportunities to be involved in education and can raise these important whole person/spiritual issues. This conference is a great time to find out more.
Doctors for Ukraine mission 25 July-4 August
GPs, general physicians and gynaecologists are sought for a medical screening trip this summer. Optional stop in Budapest on way back. Pay own way but some grant help may be available. Contact Michael Webb-Peploe.
Doctor for Mt Kenya ascent 5-12 October
LCF/CLEAR International need a doctor to accompany a charity challenge event, walking/climbing Mt Kenya. Ideally they'd raise funds too by way of donation. Contact Christine John.
