The debate on ‘Is the Qur’an the Word of God’ is up and running, and has been visited over 11,000 times since August 1995 by people from all over the world including many from Muslim countries.
Apologetic material
Jay Smith’s papers on the Origins of Islam, Muhammad, the Qur'an and the comparison of Qur'an and Bible are available on the internet.
Responses to Jay Smith’s original papers from Muslim scholars also posted along with links to Christian/Muslim web-pages throughout the internet.
Also available, in an interactive format, are eleven ‘truth tracts’, which deal with principle objections Muslims raise against Christianity
There is a vast amount of material available to download including Jay’s debates with Dr Jamal Bedawi and Abdul Green at Cambridge and Southbank respectively.
On-line debate
There is an even more urgent need for students with access to the internet to debate on-line with the many Muslims responding.
Even if you don’t intend to enter the fray (at least at first) there is much to be learned by examining the material at this and related sites.
Newsgroup sites
Both Muslim ‘Newsgroup' sites (soc.religion.islam and alt.religion.islam) are still buzzing with discussion of this material which strongly challenges the inspiration of the Qur'an and the prophethood of Muhammad.
Again students are encouraged to join the debate, praying for open interested individuals with whom to correspond on e-mail.
