Know Your Bible 36

Answers

  1. It was David who escaped death by fleeing through a window whilst his wife Michal fooled the would-be assassins with a mannequin and goat hair (1 Sa 19:11-17). Michal demonstrated that the need to protect innocent life supersedes family or other ties.
  2. Solomon is the wise naturalist so described (1 Ki 4:33). He is a lesson to us, both positive and negative. He sought wisdom from God above all else (1Ki 3:5-15), yet in later life he became proud and neglected God’s commands, to his great folly (1 Ki 11:1-13).
  3. Both Enoch (Gn5:21-24) and Elijah (2 Ki 2:11,12) did not suffer bodily death but were taken up to heaven. Jesus, after the resurrection, was also taken bodily up to heaven (Acts 1:9).
