  1. The writer of Proverbs likens drinking too much alcohol to 'sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging'. Both result in 'bruises', 'bloodshot eyes' and 'confused' thoughts. (Pr 23:29-35)
  2. If you sit to dine with a ruler, you should 'put a knife to your throat' if you are given to gluttony. (Pr 23:2)
  3. On the road to Bethel, some youths ridiculed Elisha for being bald. When he called down a curse on them in the name of the Lord, two bears came out of the woods and mauled them. (2 Ki 2:23,24)
